As a big fan of 
Smart chat, I even wrote a small guide on how to get the most out of this feature.
And because at iDO, we use Slack daily, you can imagine how excited I was when I heard about its integration directly into Slack!
What is Smart chat in Slack?
This integration lets you access Smart chat directly from Slack, meaning you can ask questions and get insights, recommendations, and updates without leaving Slack.
Please note that, unlike the full Asana Smart chat, you won’t be able to take actions like creating tasks directly from the chat in Slack, or @-mention Asana tasks/projects from within the Smart chat in Slack interface—it’s focused on providing information to help you stay on top of high-impact work without switching tools.
To start using Asana’s chat capabilities in Slack, simply navigate to the Asana icon in the quick access menu at the top-right corner of your Slack workspace, and click “Chat with Asana.”
If you don’t see the Asana icon, don’t worry! You can easily add it:
- Go to your user preferences in Slack.
- Click on “Navigation.”
- Find and select Asana from the “App agents” section.
Examples of use-cases
- Quick Project Updates: Ask a question and get a clear update right in Slack.
Avoid Blockers: AI identifies issues early, so you can fix them before they become too big.
Smart Insights: The AI gives you tips and next steps to help you focus on the most important tasks.
For teams already used to working between Slack and Asana, this could be a major step up in terms of efficiency.
