I am trying to perform an advanced search where I find tasks that exist in one project and also do not exist in another project. This kind of search used to be possible but for some reason I am not longer able to perform it?
The Asana support chat bot keeps telling me to click “Add filter” in the Advanced Search interface and select “Project” but this filter does not exist.
You have the new interface, currently being A/B tested. So either this is hidden somewhere, or it was removed, which would be really bad. @Emily_Roman can you help please?
You’re correct; this was possible and is no longer possible in the A/B test version.
@Bastien_Siebman, while both choices are available as you indicate, the new interface only permits you to select one of them. That’s why the old interface was designed differently.
@Forum-team, Could you pass this newly-added deficiency to the list for the product team? It’s a shame to lose functionality, whether intentional or not.
Hi all, and thanks for sharing your feedback! I just sent a note to our product team about this update so they can consider it when analysing the results of this experiment. We will keep you posted if we get any news!
@Emily_Roman - I agree whole-heartedly with @lpb and the OP – this is a major loss. Please let them know there’s another vote on behalf of me and my Asana clients.
We’re excited to announce the official launch of our new Advanced Search filters, designed to make applying and editing search criteria more intuitive. This update allows you to refine search queries with greater ease, enabling faster completion of essential tasks.
In response to your feedback, we’ve updated the filters with the following features:
“Through the next” option for due dates
“Collaborators” option for messages
“Not in these projects” alongside “In any/all of these projects”
