Searching for dependencies

In searching for dependencies we have repeated subtasks with the same name, is it possible to filter by project or task name to make sure I’m choosing the correct subtask?

Unfortunately it’s not possible to filter that list.

Allow task dependencies to be restricted to current project

When using the dropdown list for task dependency selection, tasks from all projects meeting the “type ahead” criteria are displayed. When the task name is too long to show the Project name in the selection box, it is impossible to identify the correct task. Restricting the selection list to the current project would be helpful. Alternatively, expanding the hover function to include the Project name would help as well. Note that the functionality works as desired in Templates

In the meantime while awaiting a fix like Asana Community > Product Ideas @Phil_Seeman referenced, many of us first use the search box or another tab where we might have the task/subtask open and copy its link. Only then do we start to add the dependency, and then we just paste into the box. That presents a single choice which we select (or just hit Enter). That’s often the fastest and most accurate way to specify the dependency, even if it’s not the most intuitive way!
