My colleague received an email from learn@go.asana.com, which looks suspicious to me. It’s also strange that she was the only person from our team to receive the email. Has anyone else received a similar email? It is in German – here is the translation:
Hello,
From 15 October, free Asana subscriptions will be limited to two members per project and team.
Find out here what you can do before 15 October to continue working in Asana:
To continue working in Asana with your whole team, start a free trial of our Starter or Advanced subscription.
I have used Asana for ten years with clients and volunteer groups. Last week I received an email saying that starting October 15, Asana free plans will move to a limit of 2 collaborators per project and team.
The account it affects is a volunteer nonprofit board that has used the free plan for three years, well before the November 2025 change for new accounts. My understanding was that existing accounts kept the 10-user legacy allowance.
A few things have me unsure whether this is real or a mistake:
There’s no banner or notice inside Asana
I haven’t received any other communication
I opened a support case marked urgent last week and it’s still open with no reply
I can’t find anyone else discussing an October 15 change
Has anyone else received this email? And can anyone from Asana confirm whether legacy free accounts are being moved to the 2-collaborator limit?
With only a few days left, I’d like to know whether we need to make other plans for our board.
