Saving advanced searches as reports

I just read this article, but it doesn’t tell me how to save the search as a report so it updates automatically. Is it just a case of starring it? Can it sit on a dashboard? Many thanks

Welcome to the forum, @Abi_Cutler! Yes, “saving” a report just means starring your search results (you can name them). You cannot currently place that report on a dashboard (although dashboards to enable you to drill down into data, which splits it off into a search similar to clicking into a pivot table in Excel).

I surprisingly can’t find any existing feedback about getting a saved search (basically a listed report) on dashboards, so if you’d like, you can create a new topic in English Forum > Product Feedback for that.

Welcome, @Abi_Cutler,

One workaround you could consider:

Dashboards now have Text widgets (previously it was just Chart widgets), and Text widgets permit links in them, so you could have a nice vanity link (or bullet list of vanity links) to your relevant saved searches and get that link into the Dashboard by hook or by crook!

Just in case you didn’t already know, the same link may result in different output depending on who clicks the link because often users will have access to different sets of tasks (for example their private tasks in their own My Tasks, projects they can see but not others, etc.).

Thanks,

Larry
