Rules: When the due date is changed, check if the due date is variable

The current state requires a date to be specified.
I want to set the date as a variable.
For example,

• After 3 days before today
• Before 3 days before today
• Between 3 days before today and 3 days after today

My use case: I want a rule that will flag form submissions if the due date is within the next two weeks (i.e., less than or equal to 14 days after today). I would like to trigger on “Task is added to this project” and condition on this due date operation. Under the trigger When due date is changed, you can check if the due date is… However, it seems you can only pick a static date, which doesn’t make much sense. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to set the rule to check if the due date is today? Does anyone see how creating a rule that checks for a static due date is useful?
