Hi. We have several projects that are the exact same but serve different departments and will be used slightly differently. Every time I need to add a rule or change something, I have to add it to each project (over 40). I would love to be able to add the rule through a bundle, however, each rule needs to connect to different projects - the one that it correlates to. For example, I am creating a subtask that wants to be added back to a specific project. If I created this through a bundle, I would not be able to set a specific project as I do not want the change to apply to all. It would be great if I could push the majority of the rule (that is the exact same) from the bundle to all projects and then disassociate it from the bundle so that it only lives in the project and I can make any project-specific adjustments from there.
Hi @Tielle_Surita, welcome to the Asana Forum!
Thank you for sharing your use case regarding rules in bundles. Currently, there isn’t a way to push rules from a bundle to projects and then disassociate them for project-specific adjustments. Same can be said about copying rules from one project to another - this isn’t yet available.
What you’ve shared would be valuable feedback for our Product team to consider. I recommend posting this in the Product Feedback category where it can be properly tracked and considered for future development.
In the meantime, you might consider using project templates when setting up new projects and editing slightly the rules in each newly created project - this can solve the issue for everything you’re going to create as a project from now on, but it will not be a fix for all the projects you have already created.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you Stefan. I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately we have API connections to a many of the projects in question. It would be a good bit of remapping and readjusting if they were to be built over.
I will definitely add this suggestion to the Product Feedback category.
Thanks again!
