Rules for No Due Date Tasks

Occasionally we will have tasks that do not have a due date assigned to them right away. They need to land in a “no due date - need to assign” or “parking lot” section. I created this rule to run when a task is added to the project, but then it moves the task to this section while you’re are partially through typing the task. And maybe you just haven’t even had a chance to add in the due date yet! Is there a way to get this to trigger at midnight with other tasks? If no due date then add to this section. We’d rather it not happen while you’re trying to enter information.

We also do not want the task landing in “Recently Assigned” on My Tasks because that could be a black hole and no one notice that date hasn’t been assigned.

@Stephanie_Whitesides,

Unless you’re willing to compose your task outside of the project, I think you might want to change the “When” part of your rule to trigger when a task is moved to a certain section, like “Ready,” so that you know you’re done entering or not entering the date and the rule will act on the ready task.

Re My Tasks Recently Assigned, that behavior can be changed by each individual user with rules in their My Tasks.

Thanks,

Larry
