Rule Automation Assign to Assignee

I have a project that has a rule

8 weeks before due date → create subtask to send email (rule uses variable for assignee and the variable is set to “assignee”)

It doesn’t work. I have attached some photos for assistance.

I have double checked that there isn’t a similar rule doing the same thing.

Rule assigns to Lauran instead of JJ

So Lauran assigned the main task to JJ, then the rule triggered, the subtask was created, and the subtask was assigned to Lauran?

On this piece, can you click on “Asana”? It will tell you which rule assigned to Lauran
