Recently, Asana’s UI has changed significantly.
New navigation in Asana
I was initially confused, but
I’ve gotten used to it, and it feels better than before.
What I’m curious about is the order of the items displayed in the sidebar.
From top to bottom, it’s Home, Inbox, and My_tasks.
Is this order important to Asana’s intention?
Personally, I still don’t make much use of Home, but I’ve recently started using Inbox, which is second, quite often.
Is Asana’s intention that we use Inbox and My_tasks together?
I use Inbox to track my task progress, working backward from today.
It’s especially useful for checking and addressing today’s tasks.
I also use it to catch up on any tasks I’m behind on from yesterday or the day before.
I use My tasks to check my upcoming tasks, prioritize them, and adjust deadlines.
Hi ka_nishiyama,
I understand that having a new navigation system may take some time to get used to.
But the new design is very intentional, with the vision of a simple flow. Home, Inbox, and My tasks sit at the top because they’re personal views most folks hit daily. Lots of power users live mostly in the Inbox and My tasks, and that pairing is totally expected.

@ka_nishiyama I use the Home page for the following two widgets: 1) drafted comments that I forgot to send, and 2) Tasks that I’ve assigned others, particularly overdue ones. The home page gives me quick access to those items instead of a search. Let me know if this is useful.
