Recurring task disappear if not completed on time

I have several weekly tasks. If they are not completed on time, they disappear and the next week’s iteration of the task appears. Even if it is completed a day late, I should still have the reminder that it is still due. Non-recurring tasks don’t just go away if they are completed late. Why should a recurring one?

I am setting up daily recurring team check in questions, but when someone misses completing their task the day before, and completes it today, the new task that gets generated is for tomorrow, not for today, which leaves a gap. Hi, I’ve a recurring task that has been untouched for days. I want to start checking complete the today occurrence, but not the previous as I haven’t completed them. How I can do this in Asana? Because I can only see complete and delete options over a task. Thanks.
