Question About Accounts

Hello,

I recently took a new job and started using Asana to manage my work because the company didn’t have any system like it. (I’ve used Asana with previous gigs and it helps me manage my work.)

I asked the company if they would pay for a plan and they said yes, but that they wanted me to use my work email, not my personal email. Fair enough.

I replaced my personal email with my work email, which removed my personal email. All good.

But when I go into Asana now, I see 2 Accounts now: Shambhala (my original account) and shambhala.com (my work account). My projects are still under my original account.

I’m not clear why there are two accounts. Can someone help clear this up?

Thanks so much!
Jenn

Welcome, @Jenn_Brown,

Asana instances are workspaces or organizations at the highest level of hierarchy (within them might be teams and projects and so on).

“Organizations” in Asana correspond to a firm’s domain name. When you create an account with your work email address, you’ll be in that organization, not the initial one.

You can use a tool like ditto.kothar.net to move your work from one place to the other (be sure to read the caveats there).

You can learn more in help.asana.com by searches or organizations and workspaces.

Thanks,

Larry
