In the past, when I create a project and then later go to My Task and create a task, I do not see the newly created project in the project drop down list. It seems like the options in the project drop down list is frozen and has not changed in a long time.
I believe it to be a temporary glitch, or something related to the search engine not indexing this project just yet. Did you happen to create the project a few seconds ago? Does it work now?
This problem has been going on for a few weeks. The project list in the drop down seems to not be updating for several weeks. If I delete a project it is dropped from the list but no new projects appear in the list.
That’s surprising. When you type something, does it filter at all? My guess: there are too many matches and you can’t see the correct one. The question then would be “why does Asana consider those options as a match”
I only have 10 projects (I think I have had far more in the past and it wasn’t a problem). When I type something in the project field it doesn’t filter anything. It bolds the option that matches best, but it doesn’t actually filter to what I am typing. The list has always functioned this way, and I thought it was pretty odd that it didn’t filter, but never followed up on it.
oh oh I think I know what’s happening. This ‘projects’ column is a dropdown custom field! not the native Projects column… isn’t it???
I believe so.
I don’t see how it could be anything other than real Projects field because of the appearance of project pills in the other task cells for this column.
Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: temporarily see Try the new Asana Help Center! - #55.
