Project Timeline view to load top down (not bottom up)

It would be really really great if Asana loaded tasks in timeline from the top down instead of the bottom to the top.

Hi @Rebecca_McGrath,

Thank you for reaching out! When I open Asana in timeline view (which is my teams preferred/default view) it loads the projects listed at the bottom and then slowly loads the projects at the top. We would love it if the projects at the top listed first (as they are the most important) and then the bottom ones appeared. Please let me know if you want a video recording or more information.

Hi, I have the same question about the way that timeline view loads. It seems to load tasks from the bottom up, and then has some tasks very low down so it is very easy to miss them. There are huge gaps in the timeline view and I don’t see the reason for this. Is there a fix for this?

Have you tried the new (and better, IMO) Gantt view?

Thank you for the quick response. We use our board to map events on a single day, so the Gantt view lists our tasks as taking 0 days in duration when they are all one day. Is there a way to change how the timeline view appears?

Hi @Sonia_Black , I’m not sure I’m following. How would you like the timeline to appear instead?
Tasks that have a due date are show with a blank duration. You could override this by setting it to 1 if you don’t like it shown blank. Or you can set it to 0 to mark it as a milestone!

Hi @asana → I saw lots I comments about the loading time in timeline view!

This problem is still NOT solved and it takes TOO long to get it done from your side.

My team works with it daily and it costs a lot of money when 30+ people sitting and waiting for loading time.

Pls Name a clear due date and assigned person that is fixing this problem and reach out to me by today. —> get management attention on this topic pls cause it makes a great product useless!!!

Otherwise we are switching to another tool that is faster.
