Other's overdue Approval reassigning to me

I’m noticing that Approvals that I’ve assigned to others are being assigned to me once they’re overdue.

  • The Approval is in a Parent Task that’s assigned to me.
  • I do have a rule in my My tasks to move MY overdue Tasks to an Overdue section of my My tasks. It’s set to not run on Subtasks.

Thanks for any help on how to keep the Approvals assigned to the original user.

Hi @Justin_O_Shea1 , if you open the task that got reassigned to you, scroll down to the All activity tab and look for the rule that assigned it to you when it was overdue. Click on the name of that rule so you can see why it did what it did.

Perhaps it’s another rule being triggered, that’s not in your My tasks?

Hi Richard.

There are 3 Rules in my My tasks.

None of them include any direction to reassign an Approval.

They are all about moving MY Tasks to a different Section of my My tasks.

When I look at the All activity for the Approval that was reassigned to me, it doesn’t list the instance when it was reassigned to me.

It does list it being moved to different Sections of my My tasks which is odd because it was an Approval assigned to someone else so I don’t know why it would have been effected by a Rule in my My tasks.

As mentioned, the Approval is in a Parent Task that’s assigned to me.

Thank you.

That’s strange - there should be a log entry once it got assigned to you.
In that case, best to raise a ticket with Asana’s support team: help.asana.com/s/get-support so they can investigate further for you. Make sure to send them the task’s URL.
