Organization Wide Settings - My Task Customizations

We are in the process of onboarding our team members into Asana - we have to set up every individual user from scratch, which is time-consuming.

It would be better to be able to apply the ‘My Task Customizations’ organisation-wide.

We have to manually set up their ‘My Task’ view and then all of their customizations such as custom fields, rules etc

I do agree but at the same time, each person should be free to organise this personal view however they like. We all have different work styles, and also our jobs will make the volume of tasks to deal with vastly different.

This could be useful, and I also agree with Bastien on the flexibility of individuals to customise their own view. I suspect you need to set it up in a certain way due to workflow for new starters.

Perhaps explore this feature: https://help.asana.com/s/article/employee-onboarding?language=en_US and see if you can use it to streamline some of those things you are aiming to achieve.

I completely understand your request. However, I believe that customizing My Tasks is the best place to start when training in Asana, especially for learning how rules work and how to create them effectively.

One option might be to create a project that houses step-by-step instructions which can be assigned to new users. This could guide them toward the organization’s preferred setup while still allowing some flexibility in how they personalize their own workspace.
