Option to add "Task Status Update" field to give task-level status updates

Hi forum,
I am wondering if it is possible to create task-level status updates similar to how project-level and goal-level updates are available?

We find ourselves using a text field or comments field to report updates to tasks, but this is a little clunky and doesn’t allow for a nice overview and traceability, nor allows KPI tracking on a given task with an explanation and trail of previous updates.

I guess my product feedback would be to add a field option called “task status update” that mimicks the other status update features – which could potentially also be pulled more easily into e.g. a project status update and refined with AI.

That seems like a bit low in the pyramid of clarity, not sure Asana would ever do that. What about pin comments? And for reporting use custom fields? Or use milestones more?
