I’m not entirely sure if this is a “bug” but its incredibly annoying. Our projects have multiple tasks in each, and those tasks have subtasks. When a subtask is assigned to a team member and they are looking at their task list you cannot see what project the subtask belongs to? Incredibly annoying when we have 50 projects on and our task list shows a long list of projectless tasks.
Steps to reproduce: Create a project, create a task for that project, create a subtask, assign the subtask to a team member.

Hi @Sophie_Warner and welcome to the Forum!
This is currently an expected behaviour, you can learn more about it in the following article: Help with Asana subtasks | Product guide • Asana, and if you haven’t yet, you can add your vote to this feature request here: Ideas/Feedback to display subtasks
Hope this helps @Sophie_Warner
@Sophie_Warner Not sure if this helps . . . but we had the same problem and decided to add project name custom tags to the tasks. For us it is the client name. That way, you can easily see what that subtask is in reference to. It’s a little extra work, but we didn’t want to add it to the project as they messed up our estimates and view of the tasks in the project view.
@Alisa_Hall That’s super helpful! We’ll do that to, thank you!
