New PDF Viewer in Chrome is a problem

I posted this under Feedback and got no response so am trying it here.

The latest version of Asana changed the PDF viewer to an image view and took away features that were very important to our team including the ability to rotate, print and zoom the image (without zooming the entire browser). We should not have to download the file in order to view it properly. Is there another way around this? Thank you.

So no one else if bothered by this? The PDF viewer has become a major annoyance for our team and we’d like to know if there is anything we can do.

Hi @Ronald_Thornton! Sincere apologies for the delay in responding.

What you are saying is correct. This recent change responds to the new Proofing update we are currently rolling out Proofing for PDF . You can learn more about this feature in the following Guide article: Proofing in Asana | Product Guide • Asana Product Guide.

As you have mentioned, you can still zoom in, rotate or Print your PDF by downloading the file. I’m really sorry to hear this new feature has affected your current workflow. I’ll make sure to escalate your feedback for the Team in charge of this update to consider this pain point for future updates.

Apologies again for the delay in responding. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Natalia, Thank you for the reply. We did find a workaround by switching the Project view from List to Files and opening the PDFs we want to view from there. However, It would certainly be more convenient to have that option from within the task. We will have to weigh the value of essentially doubling our subscription fee for the proofing option.

Agreed!

Hi @Ronald_Thornton! if you are using Chrome browser, you can press Command (Mac) or Ctrl (PC) and click on the PDF file, it will open it in a new tab where you can zoom in, rotate or print. I hope this helps!
