New Homepage 🎉

#1

Hi folks!

I’m delighted to announce that we’re rolling out a brand new Homepage!

When logging into Asana, you will automatically land on your Homepage where you will find your Favorite Projects as well as Projects you have recently worked on!

This is the very start of our Homepage feature; ultimately, it will be a place that helps you contribute to your team’s mission even more efficiently: surfacing anything that needs your attention, nudging you to do the right thing at the right time!

If you’d like to learn more about this new feature, have a look at this handy article. As always, we welcome all your feedback, so feel free to let us know what you think and you’d like to see on your Homepage in the future!

Important note: This feature isn’t yet available to all our customers, we’re slowly rolling out, so if you don’t have access to it just yet, don’t worry, it should be available to you soon!

Hi,
I’m not sure how this can help me… It’s simple duplicate of favourites and recent projects from the left pane…

I feel the same way, was quite excited when I saw the pop-up that it was coming but quite underwhelmed. I like the idea of a homepage, I think it could be useful if done right, but this doesn’t feel like it really adds much to the product.

I’d expect a homepage to maybe show some of “today’s” tasks from My Tasks along with pulling in other aspects to the system. I haven’t thought it out enough but I’d figure that Asana would have a good idea of what to pull in. I’m struggling to find use in it :frowning:

It now overwrites setting the default view to My Tasks which is unfortunate as well. I understand you can still bookmark My Tasks but much of the time I am just searching asana.com to visit the site versus clicking a bookmark. Really hope the homepage improves and adds more/different functionality.

#5

unhelpful… how do i get My Tasks back as default view.

Wish you guys would stop messing around with navigation etc of Asana. You’re COSTING me time instead of saving me time.

I can see why there’s a need to a “home page”, but not with the functionality that it offers now. Can’t wait for new improvements to come!
Users deserve a open roadmap #please.

I like it! I find that I need to break up a few projects, and this might do the trick!

Something I would like, is to have more color options, so that we can brand our Asana community to our nonprofit. Anything down the pike on more options there? Keep up the great work, I tell everyone to use Asana! I love it!

Also: Any updates coming on mobile? I see Android and Apple looks different a bit.
Cheers,

Didn’t the video the CEO showed at the start that that’s coming? There’s a video somewhere… It sees that’s where they are heading! Which I would love!
Here’s the video:

Totally agree! I also like the idea, but the current functionality doesn’t make sense to me. It would be great if you can manage and organize what is on the homepage and I also hope that they add new functions soon.

Hi @Adrienne_McCue1 :wave:t3: This is only the start of the Homepage feature, so thanks for sharing your feedback, we will definitely take them on board as we work toward developing this new feature!

Our mobile Team is constantly working to improve the Android app, but for the latest updates, keep an eye on https://asana.com/guide/help/faq/release-notes.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Agreed with all of the above. I definitely appreciate some work toward giving us that 10,000ft view of our company’s work, but this isn’t ready and honestly shouldn’t have launched like this. Especially if you’re also not going to let us set a different section as our default “home”. (And I did burn a little time manually setting a color for every… project… manually… via… multiple clicks… each…)

I really appreciate this feature - its perfect for a high level view during team meetings and I like that it’s pretty basic (if I want details, I’m going to click into a project). Features to request: Flexibility in organizing the tiles (different grid ratios) and a keyboard shortcut to get back to the homepage quickly (or a button along the top bar - just would be nice to be able to access it without opening the side menu).

Somewhat related, would love the option to use custom colors for projects.

I like it! I find that I need to break up a few projects, and this might do the trick! but …where is it ? I can not find it after I login …Funny …:hot_face::hot_face::hot_face::hot_face::hot_face: @Marie

Thanks Asana. This could be a helpful feature down the track. However in the interim can we have a setting to remove it from the side bar - or at least be able to set our default landing page.
Also I’ve never used the dashboard (does anyone??) - Can we have a setting to hide that too please?

#15

HI @Lindsay_Pangborn :wave:t3: and thank you so much for your feedback! You can actually change the colour of your project following these steps This will be reflected in the Homepage

#16

Hi @Frank_wu! You should find it just above “My Tasks” in your left sidebar. Hope this helps

#17

Hi @Tim_Jasper :wave:t3: and thanks for your feedback! As it stands, it’s not possible to remove the “Dashboard” or “Homepage” feature; with that said, I would recommend creating a thread in the #productfeedback category for our Development team to consider it when revisiting the sidebar feature.

In the meantime, if you prefer landing on your “My Tasks” or “Inbox” page when logging in your account, I would recommend you to create a bookmark to your “My Tasks” or “Inbox”.
