I appreciate the color changes for exactly the 4 reasons you mentioned. The old colors were a bit harsh and distracting.
As a color-blind person, the new color scheme has made it really difficult for me to use Asana. All of the colors look nearly the same and are much more difficult to visually distinguish. Could we please get a toggle to flip back to the old color scheme?
As many others have said this change directly impacts utilization of color as indicators on production projects and directly impacts business processes. The new colors are too muted and in some cases no longer convey what they were intended to convey.
I also had users thinking their monitors were suddenly having issues because the vibrancy just disappeared. Testing this on production with no warning was a bad move.
Agree with the overwhelming majority here. Not a fan of the new colors, they are very hard to distinguish between each other. Very low contrast.
New colors are AWFUL! Please change it back - too much in Asana for us to differentiate what’s what with these dull @%# colors.
So glad I found this forum! I thought something was wrong with me and/or my screen. Agree with everyone here re the muted colours. I feel I have to look so much harder for my projects now. Please give us better options!
I did, it just helped with contrast by the colours all off still
Please rethink this decision.
many of us use colors to flag specific type items. this new color pallet does not lend it self to seeing the difference.
Is it possible to give us a choice in settings between the colors and the washed out colors?
thanks for listening
Show us the positive feedback that outweighs the negative feedback. It is not just a color change, it affects how we are using the colors. We really need the option to choose custom colors.
WHY do you keep changing the colors on the Calendar?! The old bright ones were great, I NEVER had an issue with telling apart things that are checked off or not checked off. Now I almost missed something that was due today because it looks JUST AS GREYED OUT AND DIM as something that is actually checked off. I thought your app was supposed to help people get their tasks done. Please don’t fix stuff that ain’t broke. You’re making me crazy over here.
Kia ora Team Asana. Echoing others’ comments, I too would love to see the option of a customised palette, or even simply to choose between the new palette, the previous palette (the high contrast one that caused such an outcry when it was introduced), and the one before that - which I just loved and was devastated to lose.
Colour plays such a big part in how we use Asana, and this is second time that I’m considering moving to another product (having been hanging in there waiting for a better alternative to the last palette change).
Please, please, please… by all means make your new palette the default choice and use it in all your branding for the next 18 months before you change it again… but please give your users options!
Thanks, I hate it. Colors are harder to distinguish now. They feel washed out and depressing. My team uses colors to help folks determine what actions to take within their tasks, and I find it incredibly difficult to determine those actions at a glance now. It’s fine if you want to offer these colors in addition to the previous palette, but don’t take those useful colors away from your users, especially since there’s so many fewer choices with the updated palette. Please revert this change.
The colors are so muted, I can’t easily distinguish between them. We used the colors to denote different levels of engagement on our client projects and how I can’t see at a quick glance how many are green, blue or grey… is that grey? No… it’s greyish green.
To make the color pallet useful, please differentiate the colors!
I’m regretting that we use the color on projects as a system!
Please Asana, kindly give an option for users to return to the vibrant old colors (the saturated ones). They were beautiful, whereas these ones are sad and terrible. They make me feel bad!
Those who are unhappy are more likely to be motivated to comment on the issue than someone who agrees with the changes. Nevertheless, the almost exclusively negative feedback in this discussion should be an alarm signal.
That’s why I suggest asking all users for their opinion on the new color scheme in a poll. If the majority in the poll is in favor of the new color scheme, many of those who do not like the new colors will also find it easier to come to terms with it.
If a significant portion of users dislike the new color scheme, a choice should be introduced.
The ability to switch between different color themes is certainly implementable with reasonable resource investment. A small price to pay to increase user satisfaction!
Honestly, now that I’ve read we will not have an option to revert the color scheme, this is really one way to push users to test other apps! The graphic readability is paramount, and it’s one of the reasons we’ve chosen ASANA to start with.
I wonder how the unicorns would look like so pale…
I hate it!
You know what! on a second thought! I hate it!
it’s just counter productive. it’s making me feel sleepy!
I can’t believe you did this irreversibly!
I didn’t like it, it is so pale.
please bring me back my colorful ASANA
These colours are terrible. They’re so drab and boring and honestly unmotivating. I loved coming to Asana to instantly see all the vibrant colours of my to do list. I initially thought something was wrong with the program. Now I don’t even want to look at my Asana because of this change.
Please give us an option for vibrant or muted. I’ve converted so many people and organizations to Asana and would hate to have to find a new PM software because of just a simple fix on. your end.
