Hi all, I have a chart on a project dashboard which is “incomplete tasks by section” with the following settings.
x-axis: Section
y-axis: task count
Filter 1: Task type - task
Filter 2: Task completion status - incomplete
This shows me we have 300 tasks in the section entitled ‘unsorted’ (don’t ask, I’m cleaning up a mess). However, under the ‘List’ tab there are no tasks under that section. The only filter applied here is incomplete tasks.
Any clue what I’ve done?
The “untitled” section is usually not a real section, it refers to task outside of any section (usually above the first section)
Hi @Theo_N
Can you please try adding another filter to your chart?
Add the subtask filter, and click on do not show subtasks.
Would this change the result?
I just tried it on my end, and the report set up is not intuitive. I should have had 3 tasks only, but the dashboard showed 225 tasks - which I need to investigate further to see if that counts for all tasks and their subtasks which are marked complete. If that is the case, that could be a platform bug.

I believe subtasks are counted by default, and they would rightfully not belong to any section
Yes but in this case I have create a section called ‘Unsorted’ which these tasks should be under.
Add the subtask filter, and click on do not show subtasks.
Thank you! This makes the numbers correct, however I want the subtasks to be added to sections - is there any way to do dthat

You’re both correct they seem to be sub tasks- but I need these to be added to a section to keep track of them. Is there any way to do this?
Sorry for the triple post but I can’t edit. There’s a new piece of information. If I try to delete the section ‘unsorted’ it asks me if I want to delete the 85 completed tasks and 0 incomplete tasks.
