When converting a task to a subtask, the subtask would become nested under the task. This still occurs, but now, the subtask also remains visible at the same level as the task underneath the section - meaning it is visible next to the task as well as nested underneath the task. I don’t want both to appear and just want to see the nested subtask, but if I delete one, it deletes the other. How do I fix this?

To get the subtask to not show in the project view like a top-level task, you need to remove it from the project:
