More Options for Workload Math

I’m currently creating Agile UX Sprints for our design teams. In order to do this, we want to use a Story Point type of system. This is something that we also want to use to estimate work outside of sprints as well, so we can see our week over week Studio capacity as well as capacity for our sprints. The current implmentation doesn’t work for this as we have %, Time, or # - we want to use customer # for points, but what happens is that if we estimate a project as say 8 points it then spreads out those points across the number of days. And a designer that has 12 points per week, then has to do a bunch of math to calculate how to get said project to be 8 points a day vs 8 points spread across days/weeks.

So would like to have an option for how points get spread on both projects and person’s capacity.

On a user level - Allow us to select their capacity for custom #'s as Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

On the project level - Allow us to choose if points (number) gets spread evenly across days or is set as a per day, week, month cost.

So for example, based on my current use case, it would work like this.

Sprint planning - We estimate Project 1 will be 8 points and will take 1 week. Project 2 is low effort at 2 points, but will take the full sprint (2 weeks). And Project 3 is medium at 4 points and it also only takes a week.

My designer as a weekly capacity of 10 points.

So I’d line up Project 1 to be in week 1, Project 2 week 1 and 2, and Project 3 in week 2. That would make their capacity for Week 1 = 10 points, and then Week 2 = 6 points.

Then on a Studio Roll-up, I could see the capacity across all teams, all projects. And this would let me see this particular designer will have some capacity in that second week, so they can help out on another project (possibly outside of the sprints).

But overall it would be great to have more options to calculate how the numbers are utilized instead of just the number being divided across days.

Bonus - Please also add Numeric Drop downs, so we can restrict the numbers being used here (so for example my drop down would be 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12)
