Migrating from Monday.com to Asana?

Hi all,

My team is working with Monday.com where we have multiple boards connected + thousands of items.

We are keen on switching to Asana, but the migration part seems very complex.

Is it possible to migrate all that data using some sort of automation?

Hi @FatRonaldo, welcome to the forum!

I am not familiar with the other platform, but I’m tagging the @pforumleader in hopes that one of them can offer a solution.

Best,

Jeremy

Thanks for looping us in @Jeremy_Long

Hi @FatRonaldo , welcome to the forum

I actually have a custom migration service using my in-house-built tool which allows me to carry out migrations from monday.com or Clickup to Asana, including comments, attachments etc.

You can find out more on my website here:

Feel free to book a call with me to discuss further so I can provide you with a quote.

Welcome, @FatRonaldo,

In addition to @Richard_Sather 's solution (Richard, curious what you’re doing technically?), unito.com and altosio.com are two options, and there are likely other.

Thanks,

Larry

I have a fantastic dev that has created a tool that connects via API and create a SQL database that I can recompile into Asana, including comments, attachments, the works.

The benefit of having me do the migration is that I will make recommendations on restructuring that makes the best use of Asana’s data model and features.

I can also push incremental updates so I can recreate the entire space as a mockup for review and approval, and then push all recent updates over a weekend so the transition is literally from a Friday to monday… or actually to Asana in this case!

That’s a powerful combination: your expertise and the tool together.

I’ll keep this in mind when the need comes up for anyone. Is it Monday and ClickUp alone for now? Any other apps now or anticipated?

To promote, maybe a 10% discount on certain Mondays?

Thanks for the support, @lpb.
Monday and Clickup have been popular - I haven’t had any other uses cases so far but Jira and Smartsheet could be next. Would like to hear your thoughts on that.

I’m not sure what the distribution would be, but those are the biggies, I’d think.

Perhaps some Trello too, maybe Wrike, but perhaps wait to see if there’s demand.

As @lpb said, very cool!

Thanks @Phil_Seeman , perhaps I could give you a demo someday. Although I doubt Larry will be impressed with the current UI… it’s for my eyes only, but it gets the job done!

Are they able to import everything including comments, attachements and so on?

Hi @FatRonaldo , not quite sure what you are referring to, but yes, my migration service includes attachments and comments.

I bet I will be impressed overall, and no need to make it great if no one else sees it. My personal UIs are a horror!
