Hi all
I’ve found a method with Google Chrome to export timelines of large projects in HD to image or PDF, and with no information cut out.
From an original great idea by @Nick_Dilisio Print a timeline - #87 by Nick_Dilisio that I have detailed added my own tips.
Try to zoom on my timeline below and be amazed
And notice how :
- Almost 100 tasks visible
- All tasks are readable (if you zoom in)
- All campaigns titles are correctly displayed
- We even see the owners’ picture
- And this could technically work for any size of project and period

Step-by-step guide
Required tool: Google Chrome
- Step 1: Play with the built-in project zoom to see all your campaign titles in detail (“Weeks” seems to work great)
- Step 2: Zoom out in Chrome (my example was 33%) - how to zoom in Chrome
- Step 3: Follow this article that uses Chrome F12 mode and the “device switcher” to simulate the screen in different dimensions: How to Take Ultra High Resolution Screenshots in Chrome (4K, 8K, …) - David Augustat
- Step 4: Adjust the settings and export the screenshot using the F12 Chrome integrated tool (info in the article in step 3). All settings are important and must be adjusted to obtain the perfect result.
- Step 5: (if needed) Rework your export (crop, convert as .pdf…)
