Make creating custom fields from forms more intutitive

This feature is so useful, yet so hidden…

Desired outcome:

  • Better visibility for this functionality
  • More intuitive and consistent interface/order of operations.

To create a field from a form one must:

  1. Add a question
  2. Add the question name
  3. Choose the right field type
  4. Choose a field name
  5. Hit enter

When creating a field, the (thought) process is usually the other way round.

  1. I’m creating a field, what should I call this?
  2. Select the right field type
  3. Create field

I think it’d be a lot more intuitive if it would be a button visible here somewhere, maybe as a small +?

So I’m thinking maybe have the button link to the normal field creation menu?

I’d find it more logical to set the question name afterward, maybe auto selecting the question name after field creation is done. (Maybe even autocopy the field name if a question name hasn’t been set yet)
