Lose access to task I should have access to

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
I’m a Guest in an Enterprise Division and lose access to a task I am a Collaborator of
Steps to reproduce:

  1. In a project where I’m a Project Admin and which is shared to a team where I’m a Team Admin, I create a task Task (I’m automatically a collaborator):
  2. Right after I assign the task to a member, I lose access and the task detail pane is replaced by:
    image
  3. The above shouldn’t happen, right?
  4. When I click Request access, the member gets a notice to add me as a collaborator–but I’m already a collaborator. Here’s a screenshot of the member’s screen I was just on a virtual meeting with or another task where the same thing happened:

Chrome Windows current

By the way, I went ahead and reported to Support and they’ve already escalated it (but no resolution so far; it’s only been a few hours).

Thanks for the report @lpb, and thanks for reaching out directly to support as this will likely require informations that can’t be shared here. I’m moving this thread to In Progress, can you post an update once you hear back from our support team?

Facing a similar issue. User 1 adds user 2 as a collaborator. But user 2 is unable to see the task and instead gets the request access message.
Upon clicking on the request access message, user 1 gets a notification, which says add user 2 as a collaborator. → Vicious circle

Welcome, @Andrew_Keaveney, and thanks for posting here; that sounds exactly the same as what I ran into.

My support request was escalated Monday evening but I haven’t heard anything further yet.

This happens to users in projects as well, and it seems to happen when Asana pushes updates. It’s like there’s some kind of database issue where users lose access to whole projects entirely. Seems like there’s a bug in the master database.

Hi! Just writing to acknowledge the Asana team that this happened to me as well. Cannot access a task that was assigned to me. Also, keep the good work!

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:

Users, who are members of a project, and/or are collaborators do not have access to the project/tasks within. They are listed as Members within the Project as well as Collaborators on the tasks themselves. They are able to access the project but unable to view individual tasks. I am the Project Admin and have received a new task to provide access to them, but cannot as they already have access. Nothing within the process has changed and this was and has been working flawlessly for several months.

Steps to reproduce:

Users who are Members of the project cannot access individual tasks and must request access. Access cannot be given as they have access.

Browser version:

Microsoft Edge
Version 120.0.2210.77 (Official build) (64-bit)

Is anyone aware of any issues with access to details on multi-homed tasks? I have a project with a workflow that multi-homes tasks to 4 other projects. Everything worked fine yesterday but today the users of those other projects let me know that they can no longer see the task details. They are being asked to request permission to the task. This is despite them being members of the team and/or already collaborators on that same task.

With one user I’ve tried:
Added her as a task collaborator
Added her the assignee for the project
Removed her from the team and readded her
Asked her to log out of Asana and log back in
Removed the task from the project then readded it

None of this has worked. This feels like a bug to me. I have a ticket into support.

It’s so bizarre.

I heard back from Asana support and this is a known issue and they are actively working to resolve it.
