Lock forms so others can't edit them

I recently had a user inadvertently delete a form we were using on a project. (I think. It was deleted, but nobody came forward to claim credit.)

My best guess about what happened was that they unintentionally opened the form in edit mode, started a submission, and then for whatever reason decided they didn’t need to submit it so hit “Delete”, thinking they were deleting their submission.

This has caused a fair bit of hassle in our org. I had to rebuild the form, then we had to send out an updated link to everyone & hope they update their bookmarks (many in my org who use the form are not Asana users, so they just use the web form).

We really need a way to lock forms so only specific users can edit them. IMO this should NOT be only the person who created the form, as that means it can’t be changed if that person leaves the company, but perhaps specific users or user types (e.g., project admin) could make edits.

I found this thread [Forms] Ability to manage Forms permissions which appears to start with a similar request, but the resolution doesn’t map to the problem I’m seeing.

@Brian_Fewell - you can (sort of) accomplish this via project permissions (e.g., make only a select group project admins and then make admins the only ones who can alter the project). I can’t think of too many instances where you would want someone to be able to edit a form but not also modify the project it lives on, but if that does arise, that would be a limitarion.

Thanks @Stephen_Li, that’s helpful to know. Unfortunately it looks like we’d need to upgrade our plan to enable project permissions management & I don’t have budget approval for that at this time.
