Linking sections to another project just like tasks

Thank you for making where you can duplicate sections. However, my request is that you could link a section to another project and the tasks & subtasks update just like tasks. My context is I have several people that I am overseeing their work each day. I have a project for each person’s work and then I am copying the tasks for the day to another project where I can monitor everyone’s work for that day in one view. This is working but taking time to copy & paste over and then as things change without the day I have to update in 2 places. Then I have to remove all the tasks from my daily project each night and copy the new to the daily project.

That’s what bundles are for. You could have a bundle containing sections/fields/rules keeping everything in sync

Thank you. I am glad that Asana has feature for those with Enterprise level.

Hi @Elizabeth_DeLoach , it sounds like you are not taking advantage of Asana’s multi-homing feature which means you can add a task to more than one project. i.e. not copy/paste tasks from one project to another - that’s something everyone should avoid doing in Asana.

So, if someone completes a task in one project, it will reflect that in the other project, simply because it is exactly the same task.

On any paid plan, you can create a rule that whenever a task is added to a section in a project, to add all tasks to your daily project, automatically.

I think that should work for you, right?

@Elizabeth_DeLoach,

You might be able to do this more simply than using multi-homing (depending on your exact needs) by just using a saved Advanced Search.

Click the Search box, then click Advanced at the right in the box, specify all the projects where the work is, then search. In the search results, you can sort by day to see the day view, or by person to see grouped by assignee. Click the star, name the search, then it will appear in your sidebar for subsequent use. You can save several of these if helpful.

Thanks,

Larry
