Linking Projects to Work Orders

I need to organize my company’s projects. Initially, we’ve labeled our projects with the client name, product, and work order number. I’m working on separating all these out with Clients as portfolios, products as projects, and work order numbers as fields within those projects.

Is there a way to assign Work Order no.'s to a specific project or task without putting it in the task title? so if I were to click on the order no, it would take me to the project?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome, @Jon_Gossman,

I don’t think there’s enough context or detail provided yet to enable us to generate a good reply (or maybe it’s just me).

Where would you be when need to click on an order number?

You ask for it to take you to the project, but earlier said workorder could also be assigned to a task?

To just one or multiple tasks/projects?

Sorry, not really following the overall context or the details…

Thanks,

Larry

Hi @Jon_Gossman ,
You can create a Project in which you have list of all the projects and a field named as “Work Order Number” in this you can manually write work order number.

And the other thing you mentioned was by clicking some value you want to move to a specific project. For now Asana don’s support hyper linking. How ever you can do it by creating a field in which you populate the link of project in it.
In case you need any help setting it up let me know here 2 and I’ll be happy to assist.
