Linked Jira tickets disappearing seconds after after its creation - Please Help

We use Integrate Asana with Jira Cloud and build interactive, connected workflows. • Asana Product Guide and are quite happy with what the solution provides. It mostly suits our needs.

However, when clicking on the create jira ticket link in asana, after the ticket is created, the jira ticket preview widget disappears after popping up for 1 or 2 seconds.

I assume the issue is related to access right’s administration, but I do not know what to change where… Does anyone have experience with it?

The Faq page (Integrate Asana with Jira Cloud and build interactive, connected workflows. • Asana Product Guide) only mentions “If you want to keep the Jira data private within Asana, you can make your projects or tasks private.” I would guess our Jira is set to private then.

Where can I administrate this?
What would need to changed to what?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Community Forum, @Carsten_Boensel  Sorry for the trouble here!

In order to link existing Jira issues to an Asana task or to create a new Jira issue from Asana you need to be authorized into your Jira account. You can request more support about the Jira Admin Settings contacting their support team. This integration is supported by Zapier, email Zapier for support.

In regards with your second question, you can change your project permissions in Asana. Please find all the steps in this article.

Please also make sure you haven’t applied filters in your project so you can see the full list of tasks:

I hope this helps!

I don’t think you got the actual issue yet. I do have all the rights on both Jira / Asana and project settings seem alright. Please check the screencast.

In second 36 the right Jira Cloud widget pops up. In second 38 it suddenly disappears again. Why is this so? How can we prevent this from happening. Thanks.

We have recently joined Asana. We are trying to link out Jira to Asana.

We used the Asana information that pointed us to Zapier, however Zapier dont provide IP address for whitelisting, meaning to go ahead with Zapier would compromise our security.

What other options available as i assume we arn’t the only client that would have this issue

Hi @Joe_Pitt, I’ve helped set up integrations with Asana and Jira when using an on-premises version of Jira where you can whitelist IP addresses. If you’d like to work together, you can learn more here: Project Management Pros
