On Windows 7, crtl+shift+7 , crtl+shift+8 , crtl+] , crtl+] do not work.I’m referring to this asana documentation: http://d1gwm4cf8hecp4.cloudfront.net/guide-resources/asana-keyboard-shortcuts-9-2016.pdf
I think there is some kind of confusion with this topic.
Asana help guide (How to Format Text in Asana • Asana Product Guide) says that you can indent lists with ctrl+]
. The problem is, that on german (or french) keyboards you have to use the Alt
modifier key to access ]
.
So when I’m trying to hit ctrl+]
, I have to actually hit ctrl+alt+9
. I think asana does not recognize the short cut with the extra modifier key.
When trying to hit ctrl + 9
(without the alt
modifier), Chrome just switches tabs.
So, is there any way to indent or outdent with shortcuts that do not rely on punctuation? Using shortcuts with latin-only keys would greatly increase usability for international keyboard users.
Even greater would be customizable shortcuts, so that everyone could customize them according to their respective environment.
I have German, Win 10
The tipp from @Benoit_S2U worked for me!
Indent your list : CTRL+ALT+^
Outdent your list: CTRL+ALT+’
I am also struggling to indent/outdent lists (numbered as well as bulleted). I have tried every thinkable key combination also the ones mentioned by @Damian_Arn, but none of the works.
We really need to be able to indent/outdent our lists, so hope there’s a solution for us non-US and non-German) users.
Any tips on what to try?
System:
- Win 7
- Chrome
- Danish keyboard
@Louis_Havn we’re sorry to hear this has been such an inconvenience for you. Our team is working on expanding Asana’s international (non-US) functionality and we’ll certainly keep this in mind moving forward. I’ve forwarded your feedback and all feedback from this thread to our product team.
Hi @Alexis. Very glad to hear that this is on your radar because not being able to indent/outdent really impairs the use of the note field.
Do not hesitate to get in touch if you need me to test this again after changes have been made to the non-US functionality to see if the problem have been fixed on my end.
On a Portuguese keyboard, the keys are CTRL+, (comma) and CTRL+. (period). Other shortcuts that also work are CTRL+’ and CTRL+«
Not working for me.
Also I don’t have such good enough memory to remember all these rare shortcuts, and there isn’t even a hint next to the editor.
A proper rich text editor is needed!
I just figured this out after much experimentation.
For me on my Dell XPS 13 with german keyboard, STRG (left) and ,(comma) for outdent, and STRG (left) + .(period) for indent. Finally!
Win 10 Home
Chrome 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build, stable) (64-bit)
Dell XPS 13 9360 refresh, German keyboard (QWERTZ)
SUCCESS!
Windows 10, US keyboard, Ctrl+, to out-dent (control plus comma), Ctrl+. (control plus period) to indent.
Whew.
Hi everyone.
Indent shortcut for Spanish keyboard doesn’t work either.
To type character “]” I have to use Alt Gr. I have tried Ctrl+Alt+[, Ctrl+Alt Gr+[ and other combinations. None of them work.
I’m expecting to the new international functionality that @Alexis mentioned.
My system features: Windows 7, Chrome, ES Keyboard.
Hi,
Is there a way to indent by clicking a button instead of using a keyboard shortcut? It might be easier to remember, and we won’t run into these issues with international keyboards.
Thanks!
