Introducing Asana's Timesheets & Budgets Add-On 📊⏰

Hey Asana Community,

Today, I’m excited to introduce Asana’s new Timesheets and Budgets add-on!

This powerful add-on allows you to complete and submit timesheets, forecast and monitor costs and billable revenue, and export time and cost data to ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing. It brings together everything you need to track time and manage project costs effectively.

What’s included in the add-on:

  • Timesheets: Timesheets help you track progress and drive efficiency with accurate time data. With timesheets you can account for where your time is spent over a particular time period across multiple workstreams. Time submitters can complete & submit timesheets for time reviewers to review/approve.

  • Project budgets: Plan and monitor project budgets to stay on top of project health.

  • User rates: Set user rates for each project to factor automatically into project budgets.

  • Time and cost reporting: Report on the underlying time entries by time or cost, including comparing estimates to actuals.

  • Enhancements to resource management views: See costs on the resource management views that the user has access to as part of their Collaborative Work Management license, such as Capacity Plan, Placeholders and Universal Workload (Enterprise and Enterprise+) and Project and Portfolio Workload (Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+).

  • Enhancements to mobile time tracking: Access additional fields in mobile time tracking to support accurate time entry, monitoring, and billing, such as billable/non-billable and description.

  • Admin settings: Admins can customize the Timesheets & Budgets functionality for your organization in the Admin Console.

While I appreciate the new functionality, I think this should be an integral part of the paid plans, not an add-on

Currently we use HubSpot for timesheets. If we shift our timesheet practice to Asana, is there an integration with HubSpot to pass timesheet info to the financial accounting system?

We are using Everhour for timesheets. Would be good to compare the functionalities of both systems to decide on an integration or replacement…

@Emily_Roman - I just spoke with an Asana SDR who stated the Timesheets & Budget Add-On was only available on Enterprise+. This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve talked to an SDR who didn’t have accurate information. However, if this is correct, is this post (and the help article) something we should update since your current note says:

Is there any scope for this feature to have a scheduling/shift management element as well? Knowing who can work when seems complimentary to timesheets (and capacity planning/resource allocation generally).
