I can’t believe the Starter Plan doesn’t include custom fields—we only realized this after our trial ended. Who thought that was a good idea? Take away reports, objectives—fine. But not custom fields, one of the most essential features any planner needs.
We’re canceling our subscription solely because of this. It may seem like a small detail, but for a startup, paying double per member just to access custom fields is simply too expensive.
Excuse my bluntness but it makes a lot of sense: putting too much value in the Starter plan would push anyone to upgrade. This is my personal opinion/analysis, but Starter is purposefully “light” so you get excited about Asana, start use it, and then upgrade to get more. In your case you consider time tracking as a super basic need. I would argue that you can create a number field in Start to track the number of hours or days and it works well
