in My Task View: many tasks assigned to a project show up as " no project", why ?

Those are subtasks. A subtask does not technically belong to the project :slight_smile: This is not a bug.

so do you suggest I do everything as a separate task? seems to be easier to keep dates updated by list view OR what training video do you suggest I watch to understand best practice project management of interior design projects?

In order to show these subtasks as linked to the project, you can add them to the project manually. Simply open the subtask and use the Tab + P shortcut and select which project you would like to add them to.
