The current file view is not user friendly at all.
Files that are submitted via the form are in one location. Files that are part of the project are spread throughout the comments of various tasks or on the files tab.
Both types of files have very limited file name length so when you’re trying to have consistent naming conventions you lose most of the information and can’t determine which file is which.
You have to click every file or search through comment threads to find what you’re needing.
The file tab should list every file related to the project and the view should be improved as either a list or have an option to view the files in different formats so all the information is readily available to those working on the project.

@Jonathan_Blundell, we hear you! An entirely new File View is already in testing. It’s a part of our Notes workstream if you’d be interested in getting this sooner.

Thanks again for this nudge. We might just end up shipping the Files tab improvements independently of our broader Notes improvements. We’re still testing internally to make sure it’s stable, but this is coming soon regardless!

Can we consider document control management as well?
We use Asana to track hundreds of drawing files each month that often have multiple revisions, and apart from pining to top the latest revision, we do not have very good functionally for revision history. This would also include visibility on deleted attachments - even if it was just a log on the task activity of the name of the file that was deleted so it could be tracked, who and when they deleted it, or link to the advance search - deleted items.
Another Idea, a “new file uploaded” icon on tasks much like the “new comment” icon when there is comments in the task. This will help teams find which tasks have attachments and which don’t.
These changes would greatly enhance the functionality of files and attachments in Asana. Thanks Guys
