No, Ditto is not the correct answer as Asana does allow the export of JSON so why not the import of JSON files? It cannot be that many more dev hours to do the inverse.
Thanks for the feedback @Getz_Pro. As it stands, Asana only supports CSV import and I don’t believe we’ve planned to support JSON import just yet (most likely because CSV export/import is probably the most common across our user base). With that said, I’m taking note of your feedback and will make sure to share it with our team to consider for future updates!
Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback with us, we really appreciate it!
Yes, I see the CSV being the most popular, and in fact, it would even be less effort to adjust your CSV export to handing the missing bits rather than JSON.
But my curiosity is this, why does Asana allow a fully fleshed out JSON file export? You have no equivalent import, so what are you exporting to?
Further, why doesn’t your CSV have a fully fleshed out export?
Honestly everytime I’ve been starting work on asana, ive been changing platform again because of it being so not userfriendly for such things! for example i couldnt sync it with my google calendar nor my google tasks, and not even import data from an export from those. Google is not a random competitor. That gets me really frustrated.
@Marie the use case here is getting Asana projects quickly from one instance to another!! We really don’t care the how. It seems like Asana would be motivated to make this easy!!!
