"iDO Things" our latest app with custom actions

A lot of Asana users wish there were more triggers and actions available in the Rules section of a project.

You’ll be happy to know that Asana recently added the ability to create custom actions for Rules! We can’t create triggers yet, but when it comes to actions, we can custom code them and make them available to the community (or keep them private).

This is what we’ve done with our set of actions called “iDO things” including an action to cancel a task or postpone to next month.

More actions to come, make sure to test them by going into the “External action” tab of the Rule editor! Let us know which action we should create next.

Hi Bastien,

I would love to have an action that sets the value of a custom field in a sub-task to match the value from the parent task. I don’t think there’s a way to do that with built-in rules (unless it was via variable subsitution, which I need to remind myself how to use)?

cheers!
Tony

This is something I might try to tackle using a soon to be released feature I can’t talk about

@Tony_Sileo FYI you an always do this using Flowsana rules.
