we are organising some regular meetings with asana. One problem that we have is, that we want to remind ourselves to look after some tasks while not changing their due date.
we wanted to do a seperate custom date field, but we can’t seem to workout a good rule that would work by testing the custom date field for “date is today or before” → to then send it to a specific section.
Any Ideas on how to do this?
I am currently checking on sub tasks or reminder tasks but i currently don’t like how I have to assign each one and add them to the same project
I think the easiest way to go about this is use the start date.
When you select Runs on tasks (instead of Runs on tasks and subtasks) you’ll be able to set up a rule like so:
When start date is approaching (today) add a comment.
Optionally you could choose which tasks you want a reminder on by using a single select custom field Auto remind on start date with value yes to use as criteria for the rule.
Alternatively you could use the due date is approaching and choose how many days before the due date you want a reminder. The drawback is that you’d not be able to use working days in this trigger. If your meeting is always on the same day that’s probably not an really an issue, but I feel start date is the more appropriate choice as you’re actually starting before the meeting.
