I’ve enabled Asana pop ups on Chrome, selected to receive browser notifications for ‘Task Updates’ in Asana Notifications centre and still I’m not receiving notifications on my Macbook. Is there something else I need to do in order to receive notifications?
Hi @Heather10, welcome to the forum and sorry for the trouble!
When you enable browser notifications, you get a notice asking something similar to “Do you want to allow app.asana.com to display notifications?” and a button to allow and another one to deny. Please make sure to allow browser notifications from app.asana.com following these steps:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Go to app.asana.com
- Select View site information
- Next to Notifications, select Allow from the drop down menu.

Notifications were already set to ‘Allow’ on View Site Information.
I did not receive the below notice when I enabled browser notifications on Chrome. I blocked and then allowed again but still no notice. My pop-ups and redirects are blocked, should they be on ‘Allow’ in order for me to get notifications?

Same issue here. Tried the steps mentioned.
Thanks for your feedback Mendel. When I’m assigned a task, it appears in ‘Recently assigned’ in ‘My Tasks’ so that’s all good. The issue I’m having is when there are comments on tasks that i’m assigned to or collaborating on that I don’t get notifications. The comments do appear in my ‘Inbox’ however it’s often amidst my tasks that are due for the day so it results in me having to scroll through my Inbox to make sure I’m not missing things… I’ll contact the Support Team as Emily suggested and revert here if we manage to find a solution.
Has the issue with notifications in Chrome been addressed? I’m not receiving any notifications and have done all of the suggested steps.
No resolution yet Cheryl, I followed all the extra steps that were suggested to me via email and nothing worked. Will let you now via this thread if there’s a solution at some stage down the track.
