Has Asana fixed the "paused rule" function on Project Templates?

Has the “paused" rule” function been elimimated in Project Templates where by the template when used will have “live” rules that do not need to be turned on?

This seems like it would be a standard feature for Advanced and above. Please help

Hi @Carisa_Barah1 and welcome to the Forum!

Can you please try the troubleshooting steps described in THIS POST?

Hey Joanna, thank you but that’s from 4 years ago and this is still an issue?

how is that even possible that after 4 years asana has not made this issue, no longer an issue?

I read another thread where in 2022 asana replied and says the issue is being resonant it’s on the approved list, and it’s still not?

this should be an automatic feature without a work around.

It’s very disappointing that Asana has not resolved this very basic issue for optimizing templates to useful consistently. :frowning:

Hi @Carisa_Barah1 , thank you for getting back to me.
I completely understand where you are coming from. Thank you for this feedback!

I’ve shared this feedback with our team and I recommend adding your voice here so others can upvote it too: https://forum.asana.com/c/forum-en/product-feedback/20

A couple quick workarounds I’ve seen teams use (if you are open to using any) :

  1. Use a “seed” project instead of a template. Duplicate that project for each new instance. Duplicated projects keep rules active, so there’s no extra toggling.

  2. Add a short kickoff task checklist in the template that reminds the owner to turn on all rules right after creation.

If anything changes, we’ll share an update in the Forum. I will also be back to you if I hear anything back from the Product Team.
Thanks again for flagging this!
