Group by Custom Section in My Tasks not working properly on iOS app

Recently the My Tasks section changed and all tasks were dumped into an untitled section (as described here: Section feature not functioning in "My Tasks" section). When I go to Group by and toggle on Custom Groups, the issue seems to resolve, but then it quickly fails again, and all the tasks are moved to the bottom, below the section titles, and the sections appear as if they ere empty. This is very buggy. If I swipe down to update Asana, the issue is resolved, but just momentarily, and then breaks down again. Iā€™ve tried deleting and downloading the app again, and updating my iOS, but the problem still remains. This seems like some nasty bug in one of the updates.

This is a critical issue as the app cannot be used with this problem. If this is not solved soon, I wonā€™t be able to continue using Asana as Iā€™ve been doing so for a long time now.

I am using Version 10.24.0 in iOS 18.2. Please help!

The same thing happened to me, and I was using the Today / Upcoming / Later sections. Now, itā€™s just one big unorganized, unusable mess. What happened?!

Same here. If I set group by custom sections I get 13 sections

Is there a new limitation on the personal plan which means on the list view you can only see 14 sections?

I have two projects each with approx 20 sections but I can only see the first 14 on the mobile app??

Looks like it was broken for mytasks and normal projects in 10.24.0. Worked fine on another iPad with 10.23.0 but this just got upgraded to 10.25.0 and broke as well. I have a ticket raised which they have asked for further info.

Yes looks like I am also using 10.25.

It means that on my projects I cant see all of the sections which is a big issue.

is there a workaround or a way to download again the older version of the app?

Hi everyone, sorry for the inconvenience. I couldnā€™t replicate this issue on the latest version of the app. Could you check if the correct grouping appears on the web app?

To confirm, is this only happening in My Tasks? Please try reinstalling the app. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Support team with screenshots so they can investigate further on a case-by-case basis.



I have just created a test project, added 17 sections on the webapp. Only 14 sections show on the mobile app

So I have a project ā€œProject 1ā€ with 20 sections.

On the web app when I click on Project 1 on the left I can see all of the 20 sections with their tasks.

On the Web app when I click Home, Project 1 I can see only the first 14 sections with their tasks.

It is grouped by sections.

Interestingly I noticed that on the web app if I change the order of the sections, this is reflected in the app on my phone but again only the first 14 sections appear.

This is happening across all of my projects

Just a quick tip: we recommend avoiding follow-ups before they respond, as updating the request can move it to the back of the queue due to how the system prioritizes tickets based on last interaction.

As for the current status, the Mobile team has already pushed an update with a fix, and itā€™s being rolled out gradually. I received the update today, so if itā€™s not available to you yet, it should be very soon! If possible, please update your iOS app and check if the fix appears on your end.

Has there been an associated change in behaviour in the webapp that when you change section it now jumps to that section whereas before it stayed in the existing section ? On ios 10.25.0 the existing behaviour is maintained. If I am in in a section such as ā€˜Inboxā€™ moving tasks to other sections I have now have to keep going back to the ā€˜Inboxā€™ section which is not good
