This is not about being able to filter an individual section, but to be able to use the ‘section’ value in a filter. This might seem strange but sometimes when we have a lot of items in a section we’d like to be able to make a view of just the tasks that are in a few specific sections, but then grouped in a different way that helps us float certain important-but-hiding tasks into view so they can be picked up.
We might for example want to see just the Doing, Up Next and Hold sections, and none of the backlog sections - and then show the items ordered by due date or another custom field.
Hi @Dev_Lunsford1 , you may already be aware of this but just for what it’s worth, you could solve this by using a single-select field in place of your sections, especially when they appear to be ‘status’ or ‘stage’. More in this guide, here:
@Richard_Sather’s workaround is great, but I still think there’s merit in voting for @Dev_Lunsford1’s request, which I just did and hope you will consider doing too.
The ‘custom field’ workaround is probably what we’re going to do, but I did just realise that the mobile app is Section-based and so won’t understand what we do using the custom field. That approach does otherwise let us solve a lot of the issues that I’ve been posting about though. Thanks all
