Enhancing Portfolio Dashboards with search results / lists of tasks

Improvement idea:

I realized that the Dashboards can either display a numeric result of tasks matching criteria OR a chart, which does not work for either of my use cases.

I believe it would be beneficial to show lists of tasks (like a regular list) inside the Dashboard based on filter criteria (a good example would be old-school Jira Dashboards).

This way, a Portfolio view would become a truly central hub for all Portfolio-related monitoring and execution, especially for the Executive Team reviews not involved on a daily basis in execution.

User Story:

In my role, I use the Portfolios to group projects belonging to one Framework Contract.

My usual structure is the following:

Portfolio “FC Name” contains all relevant commercial projects + 1 central project for administration (not commercial), shared tasks, etc. called “FC Name”.

I use the said administrative project for:

  1. centralized Risk Register (with proper automation, each Risk-type Custom Task type added to any of the commercial projects is multi-homed to the admin project), which is basically a filtered list of tasks;
  2. CRM for open Opportunities.

Separately, I am using tags in “Saved Search” results to group for specific tasks distributed among all projects in the portfolio, related, for example, to missing Purchase Orders (tag: “missing PO”).

I would like to streamline by combining those two worlds, and I thought Dashboards would be the ideal place.
