Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: I have three identical recurring tasks, named “Task (1 of 3)”, “Task (2 of 3)”, “Task (3 of 3)”, with three different due dates during the year (e.g., Feb, Jun, Sep). It seems that after a certain time having been ticked as completed, the due dates for two of the tasks change so all due dates are the same (e.g., all Sep).
Steps to reproduce: Create a task. Set a due date. Set to repeat yearly. Duplicate the task, change the name (e.g., “1 of 3” to “2 of 3”) and change the due date. Mark both tasks as complete. Realise some time later that the due dates of each instance have been changed so they are the same. Doesn’t seem to matter whether or not there are subtasks or attachments.

Hi @Emmalee_Taylor, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!
When a recurring task is marked complete, it will duplicate all the information into a new task with a new due date. The interval you’ve set for your task’s recurrence will determine the new due date.
Could you please send me a screenshot showing the due date settings in your task? For example, is it set periodically or Interval?
Looking forward to your reply!
Hi Emily, thanks for such a quick reply!
Typically my due dates are repeated yearly.
I suppose what’s not clear is why a recurring task in Feb (which is then repeated in Jun and Sep) would initially determine a new date in Feb, but then after an unknown period of time change the date again to be either Jun or Sep - i.e., so all three new due dates are exactly the same, not spaced apart by a few months). Hopefully the screen shot is what you were after.
Thanks for getting back to me and sharing this screenshot @Emmalee_Taylor! In order to investigate this further, I recommend you to contact our support team and share this information:
- URL of this thread so you don’t need to repeat everything
- URL of the tasks you set to repeat yearly and they show with a due date “Oct 26”
Unfortunately I don’t have the tools in the forum to have a closer look at the tasks and identify the issue but our support team can definitely assist you further with this.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
