"Due date is approaching" rule not working

Hi, I am setting up a board for time-based tracking. I’m in the board view and have set up columns for “today”, “this week”, “this month”, and “this quarter.” I created rules for tasks to move to the corresponding section using the “due date is approaching” trigger.

I use the same setup in my My Tasks, and it works well. However, in this project, the rules are not working consistently. I had six tasks on my board, and only two moved to the correct section.

The rule history shows two successful triggers, but the other tasks didn’t move. I thought it might be because those tasks were created before the rule was created, but I created new tasks to test the rule, and they didn’t move either. I’m aware there is a delay and tasks will only move at midnight, or on the exact day the due date is one week away, etc. This doesn’t seem to be the problem; the tasks are not moving even after waiting until the next day.

The rules look pretty simple, and they are the same as the ones I have on the My Task board, so I don’t understand what is wrong. I would appreciate any ideas on what might be wrong or what I need to check. Thank you!

@Lina_Moreno,

It seems like you’re doing everything right and are aware that these rule triggers only one once daily, just after midnight, and must exactly equal the number of days asked for. They also only work on incomplete tasks, and of course for tasks in this project at the time the rule runs (it doesn’t matter when they were created).

It sounds like you’d need to Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team.

Thanks,

Larry
