Does deleting a team delete the archived projects associated with it?

We have a bunch of teams that have been set-up that are no longer in use, if we delete these teams, will the archived projects associated with each team also be deleted?

Hi @Geff

Before deleting a Team you will have to be the only member ot that specific team.
Then, when you choose to delete it a dialogue will pop up requesting if you want to delete also the projects on that Team. Please check the attached screenshot

I guess I really wanted to confirm that when the message says all the projects it also means the archived projects?

My assumption is yes, but thought I would check…

Afirmative, it will delete ALL your projects, including the archived ones.

As @David_Jane mentioned, deleting a team will delete all of its projects, including projects people have marked as private that you may not see! You can find more information in this article.

Interesting. So if I delete a team, I then delete the projects, including archives.
If I want to “remove the view of the team” I have to remove myself from the team.
BUT, if I am the only member of the team…

  1. I would not be able to leave the team?
  2. If I left the team… who/how would I reinstate myself to the team to then retrieve archived projects?

Why wouldn’t you just allow the option of “hiding” a team?
Why not allow an admin (assigned) access to all projects, including archives?

No one wants to obliterate projects to get rid of them from view… we just want to ARCHIVE them… put them away until they may be needed again.

If you want to remove the team from your view, but not remove the projects, you can certainly remove yourself from the team.

We recommend you setting the team as public so it’s still accessible after removing yourself from the team. If you are not able to access the team, you can contact our support team so they can investigate further: How to contact our Support Team ✉
