display a milestones due date as a custom field in portfolio view

Hi All

I am trying to get a custom field in Portfolio view that pulls the due date from a milestone called Go Live. This is needed for our senior leadership since the project typically doesn’t end at go live and right now the only date field we see in portfolio view is the due date range.

I know you can show the milestones with a little diamond and hover over them for more information but this is not effective or a quick view/sort for our leadership.

Ideally we are able to pull the due date from within the project milestone to display in a custom field called Go Live. The leadership could sort the portfolio on this custom field and at a quick glance see everything going live in the next 2 weeks which is often an ask.

Our teams portfolio (team is 300+ analysts for a large hospital organization) has well over 200 projects so this type of custom field is critical.

I believe at one point I saw something on here that someone else had done with custom field and rollup logic.

Any help is truly appreciated.

It’s not for the faint of heart (!) but I bet you’re thinking of this:

I did get it to work with my client, though. I’m afraid the thread may be hard to navigate, but I think we tried to include what was working; maybe read from the botttom up, though that will be confusing for another reason!
