hi thanks in advance for helping, how can i set a dependant task’s due date to be dependant on the preceding task?
ie when a preceding task is completed, and it triggers the dependant task, i want the new task to be given a due date say 2 days after the preceding task was completed
ie i dont want to set all the due dates at the start of the project, because i dont know how long some tasks are going to take?
thanks a lot i really need to solve this,
darren

Welcome to the Forum @Darren_Webber and thank you for reaching out!
As it stands, there isn’t a built feature to achieve this in Asana. There is an existing thread in the #productfeedback category requesting this functionality: Setting Dependent Task Dates Based x Days From Completed Task. I would encourage you to support this request by adding your vote to it.
With that said, I would recommend you to have a look at the 3rd party integration Flowsana (developed by our Forum Champion @Phil_Seeman) that has this capability.
I hope this helps Darren but please let me know if you have any further question!

I think you can do this by using rules. Trigger: no longer waiting. Due date: X days in the future. BUT you’ll have to choose the same X for all tasks in the project
hi bastien i got this to work with the rule you suggested thanks very much i really appreciate it, darren
